Mayapur, located in the Nadia district of West Bengal, India (3 hours drive from Kolkata) is a revered spiritual destination known for its deep connection to the Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition. Situated on the banks of the Hooghly River, Mayapur is approximately 130 kilometers north of Kolkata, offering a serene escape from urban life. It is the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a 15th-century saint and founder of the Gaudiya Vaishnavism movement.The primary deity worshipped in Mayapur is Chaitanya Mahaprabhu himself, who is revered as a combined form of Radha and Krishna.

Note: The idols of Radha and Krishna, and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu are housed in the old temple. The new temple (the one that you see above, with the blue dome) is still under construction. Please note the timings for the Aarti and Darshan once you check in. Photography is strictly prohibited. Leave your mobiles and shoes at the designated counters before entering the temple.

 

All meals are vegetarian and only herbal tea is available within the ISKCON campus. Get your meal coupons from the reception. All meals will be served in the Prasadam Hall. There are plenty of shops from where you can buy mementos for your loved ones and yourself. Govinda's restaurant is a must try. Also, do not miss the Ganga Safari, organized by the guesthouses.
